Dubai: Large Number of Kulshekar Residents Come Together at Reunion

By Ramcy FernandesDaijiworld Media Network – Dubai (SP)
Dubai, Feb 28: Although it looked like a casual get-together, it was in fact, an inspirational reunion. Over 250 residents of Kulshekar, Mangalore, who are residing in the UAE, met on Friday 25, 2011 at Zabeel Park and relived the memories of their native place. Some classmates, team-mates, ex-colleagues at work etc, met for the first time in several years. A few of them did not even know that their friends had got married, and having kids now.
Initiative undertaken by Rajesh, Ramcy, Leslie and others turned fruitful, as the reunion was not restricted to any single community, religion, or group. It was an open-to-all invitation, and the turn out was really encouraging.
The people spent lots of time together with the friends, played some games, and spent relaxed time. They exchanged views, some assured help for the local people who are in dire need, especially in finding jobs or accommodations.
They promised to each other that they would meet regularly.
Rajesh Sequirea says, "It was an amazing experience, and meeting our people outside the native place is always a wonderful experience". He thanked everyone who had joined as a team and enjoyed the day-out with their family and friends.
Leslie Noronha proposed vote of thanks at the end, duly assuring the crowd that there will be another big reunion soon.
